ACADEMIC OVERVIEW AND PHILOSOPHY

Chapel Hill Christian Academy provides a strong preschool through ninth grade academic program in a caring, Christian environment.

Our Upper School consists of grades 6th-9th grades.

Our Lower School consists of Pre-K 3 through 5th grade.

Our Hybrid Homeschool is offered to 3rd through 10th grade.

Our faculty and staff work daily to provide a variety of activities to meet individual needs and make the learning environment challenging, exciting, and successful. Our classrooms are filled with real learning and genuine excitement to pursue understanding. With an average class size of 15 students, teachers minister to the whole child, enriching students spiritually, intellectually and socially, helping each child establish their unique identity in Christ.

The curriculum includes a well-balanced range of academic subjects with a Biblical worldview, featuring phonics and reading instruction, hands-on math experiences, and an explorative approach to science. Our hope is that our classrooms are filled with engaging learning opportunities and joyful excitement! You might hear songs or see children collaborating in groups, while sharing their ideas. As a school with these values, it is our heart to equip our students with the tools they need and the foundation to go out and share who God is and the love He has for others.

CHCA students are immersed in a safe, nurturing environment that instills a love of learning within each child. We prepare them for the world- developing confident learners, who give generously and joyfully to others, all while keeping their eyes on Jesus. Just as important is the leadership and character growth our students will develop. It is one of our top priorities that we partner with parents to ‘train up a child in the way he should go.’

As students interact with one another, opportunities to help train them often arise, allowing teachers to maximize those "teachable moments." As teachers and parents help guide students to be honest, deal healthily with emotions and resolve conflicts, their confidence and character grow.

Accreditation

Welcome to Upper School + Hybrid Homeschool at Chapel Hill

As Chapel Hill Christian Academy’s Upper School Principal, I would like to welcome your child and family to our school. Thank you for making such a great investment in your child’s life that will last a lifetime! Jeremiah 29:11 states “For I know the plans I have for you.” Over the course of ten years as an assistant principal at Clarksville High School, God knew the plans He had for me. He allowed me to dive into multiple areas of administration that would benefit the growth of Chapel Hill Christian Academy.

My goal for the Upper School is to continue the work of the Lower school, being spiritually saturated, academically rich, and athletically competitive. Our school will continue to focus first on Jesus and our relationship with Him. Dr. C.S. Lewis believed that “education without values, as useful as it is, seems rather to make man a more clever devil.” Many people can be academically successful, but the application of knowledge reveals their heart. We want our students’ hearts to reveal Jesus. Second, our students will be academically challenged to meet the needs of our changing world. Third, our students will become involved in extra curricular activities that promote fellowship, collaboration, and work ethic. Thank you for believing in the mission of Chapel Hill Christian Academy and sharing your student with us. What an exciting opportunity to witness the development of disciples for His kingdom!

Welcome to Lower School at Chapel Hill

I am so excited to begin this upcoming school year with your child and family as Chapel Hill Christian Academy's Lower School Principal. God is doing amazing things at Chapel Hill and it is truly an honor to be a small part of it! As we look forward to the upcoming year, I'm praying for your child! I pray that each student will flourish academically, and develop a love of learning. Most importantly, I pray they grow in their relationship and walk with Christ.

When I  pass the students in the hallway or see you in car line, I feel the love you have for your child. I don't know about you, but when I think about how much I love my two girls, I'm blown away by how much God loves us! He sent his only Son to die on the cross so we can have eternity in heaven. Isn't that pretty amazing? Words cannot explain how much joy I have that He is at the center of our daily routine and focus. It is such a special place. We have the opportunity to come, grow, learn, and talk about Jesus.

At Chapel Hill, we are preparing our students to go out into the world and follow God's plan for their life. Whether that be as an engineer, a missionary, a teacher, or a chef, we want them to have a wonderful foundation. At Chapel Hill, we want the children to know that no matter what is going on in the world around them, they can face it because they have a relationship with Jesus. Isaiah 41:10 says, "Fear not, for I am with you; Be not dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you, Yes, I will help you, I will uphold you with My righteous right hand." Thank you for choosing Chapel Hill Christian Academy! May we partner together on your child's educational journey to create and foster an environment that is distinctively Christian, academically excellent, and biblically saturated. It is my pleasure and honor to serve at Chapel Hill Christian Academy. Let's go, CHCA!
