ACADEMIC OVERVIEW AND PHILOSOPHY

Chapel Hill Christian Academy provides a strong preschool through fifth grade academic program in a caring, Christian environment. Our faculty and staff work daily to provide a variety of activities to meet individual needs and make the learning environment challenging, exciting, and successful. Our classrooms will be filled with real learning and genuine excitement to pursue understanding. With an average class size of 10 students, teachers will be able to minister to the whole child, seeking to enrich students spiritually, intellectually and socially, helping each child establish his unique identity in Christ.

The curriculum will include a well-balanced range of academic subjects with a Biblical worldview, featuring phonics and reading instruction, hands-on math experiences, and an exploration approach to science. Our hope is that our classrooms will be filled with real learning and excitement! You might hear songs or see children collaborating in groups, while sharing their ideas. As a school with these values, it is our heart to equip our students with the tools they need and the foundation to go out and share who God is and the love He has for others. Serving our city is one way we will act as ambassadors in our community!

CHCA will serve our neighbors through mission and service projects,

equipping students to transform the world for Jesus Christ!

CHCA students learn how to learn in this safe, nurturing environment, instilling a love of learning that lasts a lifetime. We intend to prepare them to learn confidently for the rest of their lives and to give generously and joyfully to others. Just as important is the leadership and character growth our students will develop. It is one of our top priorities that we partner with parents to ‘train up a child in the way he should go.’

As students interact with one another, opportunities to help train them often arise. Maximizing those "teachable moments." As teachers and parents help guide students to be honest, deal healthily with emotions and resolve conflicts, their confidence and character grow.
