An Accessible Christian Education
Our top priority is ensuring the best educational experience for your child. Tuition represents a significant investment in your child’s future, and we are committed to walking alongside families in making Christian education possible. This past year, Chapel Hill was honored to provide financial assistance to 121 students, benefiting 68 qualifying families. We remain dedicated to offering students an exceptional Christian education, and we believe the quality and value of our programs at every level are unmatched among similar institutions.
EFS is the first step. Families must apply for the Education Freedom Scholarship (EFS) before being considered for tuition assistance through Chapel Hill Christian Academy. The EFS serves as the first source of financial support, and once your EFS application has been submitted and processed, CHCA will then review your eligibility for additional tuition assistance to help meet any remaining need.
Because the EFS application deadline occurs early in the spring, we encourage families to complete it as soon as possible. Once we know whether your family has been awarded EFS funds, we will adjust or finalize your CHCA tuition assistance award accordingly.
If an EFS award is granted after CHCA has already made tuition assistance decisions, your financial aid will be re-evaluated to ensure all available resources are used wisely and fairly. This process allows us to extend support to as many mission-aligned families as possible while maintaining our commitment to excellence.
We partner with a highly confidential online third-party vendor, FACTS, to help determine financial need for both current and new families. Our heart and desire are for CHCA to remain accessible to mission-aligned families who are truly seeking Christian education, and we value the lasting partnership we share with our families in their children’s education.
How CHCA awards Tuition
Tuition assistance is awarded to eligible current families first. Limited assistance may then be available to new families, subject to remaining funds and demonstrated financial need. An application does not guarantee an award.

Financial aid is based on demonstrated financial need. CHCA does not award merit scholarships for academic or athletic ability.

Financial aid is intended to assist with tuition and does not cover the full cost. Families are responsible for all remaining tuition.

Families must reapply each year; financial aid does not automatically renew.

Families must be in good financial standing with CHCA’s Business Office to be eligible for financial aid.

As part of our tuition assistance process, K-12 families are required to first apply for the Education Freedom Scholarship (EFS), which serves as the primary source of financial support.

How to Apply for Financial Aid

Step 1
Prospective families must submit a CHCA admissions application before their financial aid application can be considered by the CHCA Financial Aid Committee.
For the 2027–2028 school year, financial aid application deadlines are:

Current CHCA families: December 18, 2026, for priority consideration.

Prospective families: January 15, 2027.
Financial aid is subject to available funding. Submitting an application by the deadline does not guarantee an award.
Step 2
Applications are not considered complete until all the required supporting documents have been uploaded to FACTS. Facts uses factors such as household income and expenses, assets and debt, and the number of children in a school that requires tuition are all considerations in determining awards.
After FACTS receives all documents, their verification process takes approximately 14 days.
Step 3
Once all documents have been submitted, FACTS will notify CHCA of the amount of qualified need toward the total tuition bill (of all students) for the family.
Step 4
The Finance Committee reviews FACTS recommendations and an assistance amount is determined based on qualified need and the budgeted amount of assistance dollars available. The Business and Finance Manager will communicate the need based award (if applicable) at that time.
